Title IIIB transportation funding is available for anyone aged 60 or older and is currently living in their own home. The purpose of this funding is to help enable these people to continue to lead a healthy, independent lifestyle while living at home. Title IIIB funding is given to BCT by Aging Resources of Central Iowa. A NAPIS request form must be filled out by the client and returned to BCT. Title IIIB transportation funding will cover the cost of trips anywhere within Boone County, as well as medical trips to and from Ames. See the Forms page of our website to find a copy of the form. Free will donations are greatly appreciated for these trips, however, a donation is not required. Donation tickets are available for purchase at the BCT office at 328 Snedden Drive Boone, Iowa. For directions to our office, see the Contact Us page.
The Department of Human Services and other organizations provide waivers for people with a disability to cover the cost of their transportation. Each waiver has different eligibility requirements. Clients should check with their caseworker for more information. A Notice of Decision (NOD) from the caseworker must be filed with BCT.
Effective April 30th, 2008 the United States Department of Transportation Federal Transit Adminstration (FTA) enacted new charter regulations. These new charter regulations apply to both private and public group trips. BCT is still able to provide special group trips to parties in which the majority of the riders are elderly, low-income, or disabled. If you have any questions please call us at 515-432-5038.
